2013 CS4HS Teacher Workshop

Description

During the 2013 CS4HS Computing Academy workshop at Virginia State University, existing and interested high school computing and math teachers will learn about the use of AppInventor for teaching computing concepts utilizing mobile Android devices.  Following AppInventor, participants will transition to creation of Android applications using the Java programming language.  Content covered is designed to align with both AP Computer Science and AP CS Principles.  It is assumed that participants will have some previous programming exposure, though this knowledge does not have to be specific to Java or Android.  Finally, the workshop will serve as an opportunity for participants to network with other area computing teachers.
